8月18日，广西测绘地理信息局召开“美丽中国”第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛团体赛广西选拔赛动员会，广泛征集活动意见、部署开赛工作，明确竞赛要求。广西测绘地理信息局党组成员、副局长李占元主持会议，机关各处室、局属事业单位30余人参加会议。

会议决定，“美丽中国”第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛团体赛广西选拔赛于8月26日在广西测绘地理信息局开赛。为做好筹备工作，现场分发了《“美丽中国”第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛团体赛广西选拔赛实施方案》（以下简称《方案》），并广泛征集修改意见。

会议明确，成立“美丽中国”第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛团体赛广西选拔赛指导委员会，指导各阶段工作开展；组委会下设专家组、综合组，分别承担题目编制、现场点评、综合保障及宣传报道等工作，确保竞赛各项落实到人、衔接到位。

会议商定，12支参赛通过抽签方式决定出场顺序，各队须经过必答题、抢答题、转答题、风险题及实务操作题5轮较量决出优胜者。根据决赛积分排名情况，设立一等奖1名，二等奖2名，三等奖3名，特等奖代表队将代表广西参加2014年第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛团体赛；竞赛增设优秀组织奖，表彰积极备赛的先进组织部门。

会议要求，一要办实办好广西选拔赛。“美丽中国”第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛桂林选拔赛受到上级部门及兄弟单位好评，这是对办好广西选拔赛的鼓励和鞭策，要充分完善工作细节，逐项落实《方案》各项工作，扩大宣传力度，广泛争取社会支持，力争通过竞赛活动实现普及版图教育知识、深化全民版图教育意识的目标，形成自觉维护国家版图的良好社会氛围。二要确保竞赛公平公正。专家组、仲裁员要强化保密意识，公平公正地选拔出优秀的队伍，赛出广西水平。三要严格遵守中央八项规定，会场布置做到隆重热烈而不奢华，服务接待做到方便节俭而不复杂。
