7月25日，四川测绘地理信息局向各市（州）印发《关于做好数字城市建设有关工作的通知》，布置推进数字城市建设工作。

通知指出，2014年是全国数字城市建设的关键年，要求各市（州）加快推进建设。还未完成数字城市建设的，要求加快项目立项审批、项目设计书编制、工作经费筹措及工作项的招投标等工作，2014年底基本完成全省21个市(州)建设工作。已完成数字城市建设的，要求尽快建立健全建设成果运行维护管理机制体制，成立数字城市地理信息公共平台运行维护管理机构，积极开展建设成果的推广应用，发挥建设成果的经济效益和社会效益。

通知还就组织参加数字城市向智慧城市转型升级工作会议和成果展示宣传活动提出明确要求。
