7月11日，“美丽中国”第二届全国少儿手绘地图大赛广西桂林赛区选拔活动圆满落下帷幕。本次比赛于6月10日启动以来，共收到参赛绘画作品412幅，参赛选手分为6岁以下、6至8岁、9至12岁、13至15周岁4个年龄段进行比赛。经联合评选组两轮遴选，共112幅作品入围优秀作品，分别评选出4个年龄段的一等奖各一名、二等奖各两名、三等奖各三名。其中，将有24幅获奖作品将代表桂林市参加8月少儿手绘地图大赛广西赛区的选拔。本次比赛以“美丽中国”为主题，以地图为载体，通过绘画的形式表达了桂林市少年儿童对美丽中国、美好家乡的赞美和热爱，对和谐世界、幸福未来的憧憬与向往。比赛由全市国家版图意识宣传教育和地图市场监管协调指导小组具体承办，并得到桂林市委、外事、教育等多个部门的大力支持。

7月9日，“美丽中国”第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛团体赛桂林赛区在广西桂林市开赛，来自桂林市国土部门、学校的13支代表队参赛。竞赛围绕与国家版图有关的地图、地理、历史、风景名胜以及法律法规知识，13支代表队分3组进行现场对决，52名参赛选手机智灵巧、精彩纷呈的答题，赢得现场观众的阵阵掌声，带动全场观众踊跃参与；现场专家裁判团的精彩点评、精准判断和深入浅出的解读使人受益匪浅。经过激烈角逐，桂林市恭城瑶族自治县国土资源局代表队闯关成功，并将代表桂林市参加“美丽中国”第二届全国国家版图知识竞赛团体赛广西赛区的比赛。本次比赛由全市国家版图意识宣传教育和地图市场监管协调指导小组主办；市国土局具体承办；桂林日报社、桂林生活网教育频道、桂林电视台等单位给予了特别支持。通过举办比赛，提高了公民特别是青少年的国家版图意识和辨别“问题地图”的能力，进一步激发了全体公民对家乡、对祖国以及地球家园的认知与热爱，营造了公民自觉维护国家版图尊严的良好社会氛围。
