“938潇湘之声的听众朋友大家好，普查地理国情、建设美丽中国，我们期待您的支持。”在7月3日湖南省第一次地理国情普查宣传月启动仪式上，湖南厅党组成员、省测绘地理信息局专职副局长金勇章与普查工作相关单位负责人现场录制了公益宣传节目。同时，在仪式上，湖南人民广播电台、长沙广电数字移动传媒有限公司等媒体单位负责人与厅宣传中心签订了宣传合作协议。

为使各级政府和部门高度重视地理国情普查，使“地理国情普查以实为本，摸清国情惠泽民生”深入人心，促进省普查工作又好又快的开展，湖南省第一次地理国情普查领导小组办公室决定从今年7月起，开展地理国情普查“宣传月”活动。期间，将利用电视、广播、报刊和互联网等各类媒体资源，在湖南人民广播电台潇湘之声、长沙公交移动电视、公交车身播放或展示地理国情普查电视专题片和公益广告，免费发送10万条公益短信并组织媒体开展集中采访，切实加大地理国情普查各方面成效和进展的宣传报道力度，充分营造省地理国情普查工作舆论氛围。

同时，今年上半年，湖南厅先后报请省政府新闻办公室召开了湖南省第一次地理国情普查新闻发布会，开通了湖南省地理国情普查网络专栏、专题微博、微信，组织了中央驻湘和省内主流媒体对全省地理国情普查各项工作进展进行了集中报道，新华社、中国经济网、文汇报、湖南日报、湖南人民广播电台、湖南卫视、湖南经视、长沙晚报、潇湘晨报、三湘都市报等30余家媒体累计发稿200余篇，有力推动了地理国情普查工作。

湖南厅基础测绘处、测绘行业处，信息中心、省第一、二、三测绘院，省地图院、测绘科技研究所、国土资源规划院、遥感中心、宣传中心相关负责人以及湖南日报、长沙晚报等媒体记者参加了启动仪式。
